A Humanist Vision of Design
At the heart of every SoldiDesign creation is a deep humanistic vision: design is not an end in itself, but takes shape from the real needs of the individual. For Gianluca Soldi, the environment is a living space that shapes human relationships, a concept theorized in his essay "Space and Life: A Laboratory of Relationships".
Designing means improving daily life: every object is conceived to interact with its user, transforming habitual actions, such as waste separation, into valuable experiences and educational gestures.
The Encounter between Ethics and Beauty
Through research into new recycled polymers and bio-sustainable materials, Soldi builds a bridge between sustainability and beauty.
The ultimate example of this philosophy is Ovetto, the container that revolutionized the concept of a "functional object" by becoming an icon exhibited in international contexts (such as the Geffrye Museum in London and the G8 Environment Summit in Syracuse). At SoldiDesign, every product is created with the idea of its future reuse already in mind, defining a true circular aesthetic.
Space as a place of relationship
Specializing in bio-architecture and the psychology of living spaces, Gianluca Soldi interprets design as an act of responsibility. This sensibility has led him to create projects of profound ethical and social value, where light and material become tools of comfort, such as:
- The Space of the Spirit (Meyer Children's Hospital, Florence): A complete installation consecrated by His Eminence Cardinal Giuseppe Betori.
- The Chapel of Maternity (Careggi Hospital, Florence).
Experiences and collaborations
Gianluca Soldi's professional expertise is reflected in a long series of consultations for national bodies involved in environmental protection, such as Ancitel EA, Coreve, and Confindustria Napoli.
In addition to design, his ability to coordinate complex projects led him to serve as Art Director for the Festa della Famiglia (Family Festival) at the Fortezza da Basso, a nationally recognized event covered by RAI. His academic and outreach efforts culminated in curating the national conference at the Salone dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, where he solidified his role as a mentor and researcher in conscious living.
